Catalina offers a unique island getaway off the coast of southern California. Spend three days freediving the magical kelp forests with a combination of training and fun diving. On past trips, we’ve encountered garibaldi, giant sea bass, bat rays, octopuses, sea lions, harbor seals, and even dolphins!

This trip is great for all freediving experience levels and is an excellent option for anyone needing to complete beginner certification.

  • Around the town of Avalon:
    Shops, restaurants, hikes, and beaches are all within walking distance of the hotel.
    Weather conditions are typically mid-70s during the day, dropping to low 60s at night.

    Seasonal average water temperature of 68-70°F
    Visibility ranges from 10m-20m
    Rich biodiversity in the kelp forests. Common wildlife sightings include garibaldi, lobsters, abalone, giant sea bass, bat rays, octopuses, sea lions, harbor seals, and even dolphins!

    For Freediver or Advanced Freediver students, classroom/pool requirements must be completed before the trip.

    This is a great trip for friends and family to join! Ask about the ‘non-diver’ rate when registering.
